We planned for 50.
Nearly 100 came — and we closed registration early.
Last Saturday, ICAAHK held its 2026 AGM at The Helena May. 2x oversubscribed, with close to 40 mentee students in the room. 👏
At Imperial, we speak in numbers 🙂 — so our outgoing Chairman KC Liu gave his report in exactly that form. Two years of post-Covid revitalisation and stronger links back to Imperial, in figures rather than adjectives.
He closed on one point only: thanking the 24 members of the committee. 🙏
🌟Then Dr H K Cheng spoke — generous recognition of what's been built over these two years. The moment of the afternoon. ✨
And so the chair passes to Charles Poon, who has already given ICAAHK 13 years of his own. A decade of service, a steady hand, and a clear view of where this community goes next.
ICAAHK is in good hands. Under Charles, we go further still. 💙

📊 THE THREE INITIATIVES BEHIND THOSE NUMBERS
Built on the foundation laid by every Chair and committee before us:
1️⃣ IMG — the monthly gathering. Same place, same time, every month. Predictable, credible, and where our alumni meet, present and share.
2️⃣ The ICAAHK Imperial Dragons 🐉 — the only UK university alumni dragon boat crew in Hong Kong, and the committed core that keeps everything moving.
3️⃣ Joint-university efforts — with LSE, UCL, LBS, King's, Bristol, and new friends at MIT and Oxbridge. Wider connections, more diverse events — from ballrooms to ball courts. 🏀
